To build the game I do not want to say much because the reviewers have previously erleutert this in detail here. A rough overview I admit but also here.
From history of the player lands on an undiscovered island as your ship has come to break. To cope with the game, different tasks are required, which have to some extent really something. Its responsibilities include, among others, the construction of a large wood stack in order to kindle a beacon which must register a passing ship. Another object would, for example, that we have come as a treasure hunter on the island and a volcano erupts, you must first collect enough treasures and also build a lifeboat to be rich to beat it off the island. Overall, the basic game are 6 different scenarios, all of which are beautifully staged and well integrated into the game. On the Internet there are however quite a few more scenarios and an addon should appear soon.
How to:
Each scenario is defined by a certain number of laps. A round is divided into 6 different phases, to which I, however, will not go into further here, except to the action phase. In the action phase, the players can use their limited actions plan and execute. This can create new objects built and new parts of the island to be explored. However, it can appear as build bleed or hurt when quite a lot of inconvenience. Steps need to be carefully considered, because an otherwise the storm and the many other impending events make a spanner in the works. And exactly think that step is most useful, is the core of the game. The discussion that this occurs at the table really makes a lot of fun.
You have to prove team spirit in this game really, if you want to win. Each step must be really well thought out, so this is possible. For me, this combination is, telling stories of mystery-solving and to act as a team, very well done.
The nice thing about the game is that there is not a loser or winner, but that all players win or lose together.
At the level of difficulty: There are scenarios that are quite feasible, as the first example. Other scenarios have it there already a lot more in it. In addition to the fellow characters can be two different assistants to bring into play in order to simplify the game a little. With us so far all scenarios went up to 5 and 6 fairly well by hand, no later than the third attempt for each scenario it was also managed in part only in pairs, some with dog or Friday or both. In Scenario 5, we have been for two and two assistants but always (5x) failed miserably. The game is, however, also the failure of fun, because you have a lot to talk about in retrospect, there really is always clear what went wrong. And together makes losing just fun, like the simple math equation shows: (-1) * (- 1) = +. 1
On the downside, you really need some time to enter here. The game is really very complex, and the 40-page manual also not easy, but very clear and can also be found during the game fairly quickly what you're looking for. The criticism in the previous version, which is not published by Pegasus games that the manual is not sufficiently detailed, is no longer valid. But for me the instructions completely and clearly, but tedious. In addition, I have a couple of videos on YouTube looked to be some support at the assembly of the game flow. If one has however the instructions swallowed once, the rest is no longer a problem. It is definitely worthwhile. However, from the beginning someone should get for the game with several players to be there who has the game to some extent it related to the norms, as read together only 40 pages should be boring. However, a Erklärbär at the table, the game is also easy to explain, and off you go.
Conclusion:
One of the best games I've played for a long time. It is complex and not for blind daredevil. One has to be in the company hard, but this is about more pleasant because shared is half / one-third / one-fourth of suffering. It also makes losing fun. Clearly recommended for players looking to toss something and want to wallow with a small team by many dangers and tasks. Loners have here really lost much unless they are playing the game alone, which is also possible. It can be quite challenging, but if the game is won, it provides a sense of achievement, as it has still managed to me no other game.
