Just as it was. However: When reading large files (about 50GB .iso files) is the stick fairly quickly. Good 100MB / s read when copying from the drive to an SSD, over the entire 50 gigabytes.
When writing as well as reading small files, the transfer rate breaks unfortunately significantly.
If large files (> 1GB) relatively quickly with about 12MB / s - copied 15MB / s, the transfer rate breaks for small files clearly. Nearly 4MB / s were copying about 2.000Dateien with a total size of about 3GB, approximately 10MB / s - 20MB / s during read-back on the SSD.
Windows 8.1 was used with activated writeback cache (setting "Better Performance").
If the drive for extended use will not lose massively speed, he is definitely his money (about EUR 22, -) value and can each only be recommended.
Other criticisms of other reviews:
- Peeling paint, in use, from: That will be so, for me, however, not a problem
- The tab for the key chain is made of plastic: Yes, as stable as the all-metal sticks of Kingston is not the DTM30 64GB, but I expect no problems
Conclusion:
For me, the Kingston 64GB DTM30 is overall a very good USB stick. Small, very fast when reading large files and writing about 50% faster than another, for comparison drawn USB Stick (SanDisk Cruzer Ultra 64GB) it seems to me the better choice.
