- Pretty bad viewing angles (TN display), image clearly visible only from exactly frontal
- Display lid very prone to fingerprints / grease stains
- For outdoor use rather unsuitable, because too low screen brightness u permanently vermutl.. to fragile display lid
The unit is supplied with 2 Windows Professional licenses (on DVD): Windows 7 Pro + Windows 8.1 Pro and runs flawlessly under Linux / Ubuntu LTS 14! (Only the WLAN driver must be installed manually.)
In short, for me after a long search finally a top-device. Under Win 8.1 and Ubuntu 14 (fan almost always made, device remains cool) it runs almost completely silent. HP delivers with a good energy saving manager software (IPM +) for Windows. Even the Fingerabruckscanner and other useful software like the "HP Softpaq Downloader" (for HP-driver u. Software updates) convincing.
Recommendation: compare prices and look for "HP Cashback action" out.
--- Addendum to display brightness: On Ubuntu 50% in brightness level already exists the same brightness, which is achieved under Windows 8.1 only at 80-85%. At full brightness (100%) is here the display is very, very bright - in normal room lighting you will be there on 50 max. 80% turn down.
It is therefore the driver. After driver update, the brightness is significantly improved under Windows 7. This gives us hope that for Windows 8.1 come even better driver.
