Finally, the latest offshoot of the Resi-series is here. And all the ingredients sound actually very good. Familiar characters, varied and extensive scenarios, return of the Zombies (at least partially), class graphics from the trailers, etc ....
I take it the developers also not bad to go for more action and have nothing against the bombastic action Reisser the Call of Duty brand, even if I do not play this. That a mix of action / horror / terror works, they have proven with Resi 4 quite.
However, quite like the spark in me anyway not skim .. The story offers what you would expect, and a little beyond. They remain in spite of consistently familiar characters a bit pale in the background. But you can experience it in three (actually four) perspectives and gets at the end, after all, an overall impression that suits. Unfortunately, not really original, but better than the movies anyway.
The graphical side in the first chapters of the Leon campaign also shockingly bad. The indoor facilities are badly discredited when it comes proportions. The camera (bring ev. Yes a patch Abbhilfe) indoors unfortunately quite confusing. By contrast, going in later chapters on the sun. Giant bosses, excellent cutscenes and later Levelarchitekut (particularly in the campaign Chris) make quite what her and show what can be done.
Acoustically is also all the best. Music is a bit unsteady in the various campaigns to call the bottom line but as well-very well. Sound effects also contribute to the game.
The control, however, is not really designed for the elimination of enemy hordes, which may turn into frustration quickly in higher difficulty levels (or even in ambition make it through here). Action with Survival horror of difficulty? The commands for alternative commands are partly complicated somewhat unnecessarily. Here, the game is a bit too much even in MMN Weg.Dafür but you can finally go and shoot at the same time.
The levels are absolutely straight, smaller puzzles just pure addition, since the marker anyway shows where you will find for example, the key now. But I do not necessarily want to criticize, which is also in competition play now so common.
A real horror atmosphere is hardly built, back jumps through the Next Wave of focus on action. Although terrorism as described in Part 4 no longer occurs so often, but at least a few times. The violence is quite harder than in the past parts, but one has seen enough of the bloody shootouts in a short time: After all done already in the first 15 minutes countless attacks from all sides and explosions every second. Especially in the Leon campaign here would perhaps have been more less ...
Conclusion:
When I wrote my first review, I went even harder with the game and the court awarded only 2 stars. I found fault nor unkindness of developers and a high-rather bad game. Probably my own expectations as with many RE-players was too high. And the first Leon level are also the repeated play through for me with the worst.
BUT: Real or not, the game certainly has some quirks and is a survival game a lot of light is not enough horror and terror, and perhaps a little too slow for an action game, in terms of control and camera. Nevertheless, the result at the end is quite satisfactory. The boss fights are staged as I said very expensive, in the Chris-campaign should reduce the degree of difficulty a bit, then you can still enjoy the action and (compared to the Leon campaign) significantly better graphics quite well. The scope of the game is really good, the variety also. Again, you have to be fair to admit the developers have delivered what neat.
I also been playing the game for the third time. So too bad it can not be:
Therefore, two stars for me in hindsight but just too little and would be unfair to a review of the work that was put into the game.
Near to restaurants would probably be 3.5. By Resi bonus round I said despite weaknesses on four.
