The beginning of the auction in the junkyard, is once again on offer on the way too much for a really inferior product -here an old Schachspiel- and get paid, is strongly reminiscent of old classics like the talking skull. It develops a rather entangled and opaque case that takes some time already political dimensions
and a higher level achieved: the agent-existence.
Granted one feels towards the end of a good old James Bond movie reminds what gives this episode its very own touch. Nevertheless, I doubt that children -especially boy- this radio play with a record length of 82 minutes every so can be reconciled. or really understand.
On the positive side, of course, the ingenious story, the complete speaker performance, the enigmatic phrases that very exciting and surprising action sequences
- Think of the scene in the hospital, class !, the successful again because shorter and crisper narrative of Thomas Fritsch and the resolution at the end,
with probably no one in the beginning could have expected.
What I still lack the highest rating, the corresponding musical accompaniment of the whole. Many blemishes you may leave:
more speed in the narrative, more motivated speaker, good stories. However, I do not have a world-class radio play simple voice and atmospheric music.
Music that fits the situation and drives the plot.
I would like to not always use Carsten Bohn, but his melodies made the first nearly 50 episodes of the series only as memorable.
And watching the scenes where his sounds were inserted in "track of the player," go only really under your skin (hospital climax at the end).
As is a scary, scary even.
It is excited, shocked, or just relaxed and cheerful, depending on the title and scene. A return of Bohn's not even necessary. But you should consider last,
whether with such a profit not even a halfway ambitious band, or a talented mixer should commit on the podium in such a production.
Conclusion: After the three ??? me with sequence "157 in the sign of snakes", "Night of the Tiger 159", "160 Mysterious messages", "161 The bleeding pictures"
and "163 The Lost Pilot" have again pulled out of the state of shock of times a la "Scary on Campbell-Castle," I forgive the present case, thickness 4 stars
and look forward to further highlight -angeblich- "166 and the burning city".
Have Fun!
