Yet it does not lack talent, this electronic pop singer, who is reminiscent of Kate Bush sometimes, sometimes Goldfrapp or Anja Garbarek. Maybe we will remember quen 2010, she released a first album that made us discover at once a beautiful clear voice and an incredible sense of melody, all in rather minimalist electro arrangements sometimes a little kitsch.
In this second album, music Dalice Lewis knows foresees somewhat comparable to quavait Goldfrapp known during his disappointing second album Black Cherry, which followed the superb Felt Mountain.
Firmly anchored in a contemporary electronic pop, Your dreams are mine put less on the nostalgic and very elaborate melodies and rhythmic dance on heavier and richer arrangements. All this for not too bad (Haunted reveries), the good (Let it fall) and even the very good (Ignorance is Bliss), but also sometimes worse (Perfect Stranger, Nothing I Could Say) securities to the limit the dance floor, not very interesting.
But there isnt that much. Because the album is quite eclectic and Alice Lewis did not forget the main thing that makes this could quon loved in his first LP: we find quieter pieces, softer with great melodies (Bellbuoy or the magnificent The Drought which would also be on good No one knows were here, or the excellent way of introduction Where do we go now with its air choruses that strangely reminds Goldfrapp's latest album), we also discover a few instrumental interludes or that bring lapaisement and somewhat mysterious atmosphere before the final title, The Statue that definitely leaves us in the sweetness.
In total, a record that makes a kind of conversion, perhaps not final, while keeping the musical roots Dalice Lewis. In any case an interesting development and follow.
