For the first purchase (3 switch) I chose because of the many good reviews. And I could add my voice to those only. Therefore, I have bought the two other devices to it.
The technical helpers do exactly what they want. I already have all the equipment in use and have had any problems either in single occupancy slots even when fully booked. They function perfectly, without noticeable delays or degradation of the video and / or audio signal.
I have already tested the following devices:
HTPC, Gamecube (with Scart to HDMI adapter), PS2 (with HDMI adapter), Wii U, BluRay player, Apple TV3, AV receiver and a laptop.
Until now, each device has no problems and mainly works immediately. It did not matter if the device itself is connected, or yet another technical device or an adapter is connected in between. Even the cascading of multiple switches / Splitter is no problem!
In addition, I have used already the most diverse HDMI cable manufacturers, qualities, -Preisklassen and lengths. So far, still have all to work properly, it is 15m, 12m, 5m, 3m, 2m, 1m, with gold-plated contacts, or without. Everything is immediately detected.
The quality is also very satisfactory. The units are very small and light, but nevertheless not act cheap. The LED color is a dark blue, so different from what it looks in the pictures here.
In addition, the orientation of the device seem to matter or to make any problems, if you change this. I have the 5-series Switch eye is normal. The splitter is rotated by 90 ° and with me geklabt to the inside of my TV racks. And the switch 3 is turned by 180 ° and glued under another black shelf.
Extra for Splitter:
I have connected to the splitter a 55 "Samsung LED TV with Full HD and HD Ready projector from NEC. Both the signal arrives at exactly the same time and there are no visible delays.
When it comes to picture and sound quality I have nothing to complain about. Not even the fact that the cable that leads to the TV just 3m long and 15m to the projector whole seems to make a difference.
The resolutions do not cause problems.
Solely the inability to turn off the splitter, you can complain about here. However, I have resolved this small disadvantage through the use of a radio-controlled socket.
In addition, it also makes many appearances hardly makes sense to switch off a splitter. Therefore, this small minus point is mentioned even conditionally.
Small suggestion:
The individual status LEDs are all kept in the same color (dark blue). The fact that the LEDs are "spatially" not separated, lit a status LED always slightly the adjacent locations.
That is, when I turn on Input 2, Input 1 and 3 also shine light blue. While not as strong as the actually selected input, but that may just in brighter rooms / circumstances cause you can not on the device itself sooo see exactly which input has now been chosen.
This problem could be, in my view, easily remedied by simple plastic separations / walls.
However, this is only a small problem or negligible, since it is indeed usually anyway looks at the terminal and convince the two switches and the splinter otherwise completely.
The equipment for a few weeks to run with me now in continuous operation and they do this perfectly!
--- !!! WARNING !!! ---
I have already mentioned that I have clamped the two 3- and 5 Series switches in a row. So the version with three entrances leads into the five input.
However, the two remote controls give a signal, which is on the same frequency. That is, if you are both units side by side, both devices are switched to. One should therefore always bear in mind, when you buy more than one of these devices!
For me it is no problem, since the two are at different locations and are connected by a 12m HDMI cable.
