I'm still rather on the US commercial trip. For this exercise, the US has also done a lot: everything from the other side and from far away coming from, sung in English, is good, while the German counterparts can not match. The tendency to Fremdschämen is a culturally-traditional miseducation which one has to oppose and that of the Blessed Sacrament: his own musical tastes.
Joris has managed all this despite the fact that it probably no one has asked or has even issued an order to be good or to create moods and indeed with his voice, his melodies and introverted, self-reflective lyrics. A bit self sometimes puts up but in music and just German artists - and no I do not mean cheap rapper, but those who understand music as transcending medium - do it today getting better.
I am very impressed.
