We had a number of years a DVD player from LG in use, running virtually flawlessly until today. But then I thought that it finally time for a Blu-ray players, I bought this here at Christmas for the family. I chose because of the good experience with the DVD player again for a unit of LG and have to say, after extensive testing (almost) all the functions that I do not regret the decision. The time that it is needed for reading BDs and DVDs okay, but I would anyway not mentioned in the review as positive or negative, because if I now wait a few seconds more or less makes the (Christmas) Roast in my opinion, not fat. Leg Ersteinrichten of especially the SmartTV functionalities you have to wait a little partial, then the loading and waiting times of the individual functions are never very big. On the plus side is that once a disc is inserted, it will start immediately and you do not have to look for the small menu to start and operate. The SmartTV functionalities are not very big, but always sufficient (even if you operate the player, as in my case, to a TV without such functions). There are several video streaming portals available such as Netflix (not Prime Instant Video), of course, Youtube, MySpass, (...) and music streaming portals such as Spotify, which made me very happy and what's also fun when you can hear on the plant in the living room. There are also other, smaller apps available via an on-site AppStore LG. ARD / ZDF media libraries are not available as with most Blu-ray players. In addition, the player can access shared PCs and NAS server on the network and play them eg. Movies, what works Herrvorragend. The drive noise when playing BDs is very quiet, it's me while I saw a film about not noticed. I can not understand a point of criticism from other reviewers when they say that BDs when they paused, off and not subsequently restarts at the point continue. This is completely different with my device. Day before yesterday I started a movie sometime paused, the disc away and pulled the plug. When I inserted the film the next day, he continued in the same place as the day before. I do not complain about is why. But there are some, not so much the weight falling, but to remember the negative aspects: Firstly, the unit feels when I compare it with the old DVD player from LG, is not quite as wertig on. But that seems to be a problem of the players today in general. It looks very chic, but in direct comparison, even if you take it in hand, determine a difference. But as long as the part properly performs its services, is ignore it. Secondly, I have to mention that the remote control is proving no particularly good service. You have to align precisely to a point on the player to make it work. Therefore I use the LG AV Remote app for smartphone so happy you better.
All in all, I issue a buy recommendation. The device is not very expensive, works flawlessly and has qualities.
