Morricone's music sounds at home always a bit boring, and certainly not as compelling as in the cinema and not as "bombastic" as live concerts of the maestro. This CD offers a good overview of the most important works. Morricone has worked, some re-arranged, and the balancing act between modernity and tradition succeeds Yo-Yo Ma here in a sensitive and interesting way. It's a completely different, but with radio approach to this music.
