... This is what we suggest Patrick Watson and already haunting pocket with this universe in bottle. The band at Watson does not lie to us because it is another dimension that is given to us to discover with this superb album. Masterfully and very intelligently composed, Watson universe opens gradually to our ears. First disoriented, like something out of a dream too fast, you let yourself be overwhelmed by these highly visual melodies, fast images come to tangle with this music so intoxicating. "Weight Of The World" seems straight out of a Tim Burton movie way, "Mr. Tom" tells a story with just piano notes. All the songs are full of ideas, talent and boldness of the composition are fly every time. Difficult to give references as the style is dreamy but we meet Jeff Buckley in "Slip Into Your Skin", how the bass sounds fill the space are in the style of "The Wall" but all keeps a profound identity . And what about the wonder of wonders, namely "The Great Escape" with its haunting piano, his simple words ... and that voice ... no doubt paradise. Assuredly the independent gem of 2006.
