Screen size and resolution are what I consider to be the minimum necessary size for Internetting and email (12.1 inches and 1280x800 pixels).
The EeePC my sister with his 10 inches and the small 1024 resolution is nice but IMO almost useless for this purpose.
Processing incl. Volume are virtually flawless. The fortunately not klavierlackige but matted / rough housing is a real boon. At CeBIT 2009, I all the new models of ASUS, MSI, etc. viewed and could find me constantly ugly vertatschte housing. Love manufacturer that does not need the world! Samsung has grasped it with the NC20.
Unfortunately, unfortunately, a reflective display has been installed, a real iniquity. I have applied to me at once a high-quality matte Nexave film and am very happy now. The brightness of the display moves (only) to an average of a good level, I would have liked a really rich Strahlemann.
The slot for an integrated device in UMTS card is already indicated in the case and will certainly soon come up with a successor. Too bad for the price that would calm may already be on board.
The speakers are very weak. Etc. Just ups and rather quiet but enough for YouTube videos To watch films I would recommend ear plugs, alone not to bother even to other people.
Battery life and CPU power are on a par with the current atom in the 10 "devices, as was with the VIA CPU unfortunately no plan to set Samsung are typically more than 5 hours of run time a good value Amazingly small the charger -.. Barely larger as a Mars bar.
The memory card reader (SD, MMC) is pretty neat in his performance (15MB / sec read, only 3.5MB / sec write) but not optimally accessible. You have to lift the NC20, to get at the memory card.
That only a 54Mbit wireless card is installed, I can cope with a faster but certainly would not hurt.
Currently, there is lack of assets (12-inch and 1280x800 pixels) for me no better netbook. I had a look around, even after 13-inch notebooks, but this shoot far beyond my application and also cost significantly more. We have a small portable and dinky Family computer searched, with which we can surf in and around the house and email via WLAN and possibly with a holiday here.
This fills the Samsung NC20 absolutely and in our opinion also clearly meaningful / better than eg a "real" 13 inch notebook.
Therefore, from today's perspective, 4 stars, as long as there is no direct competitor with a better display (no mirrors, higher brightness) and embedded UMTS. ;-)
