Before I did so bought a foam roller, I first had a lot of research if it is worth such a thing to buy. Internet forums often write that this is nonsense, hype or even a panacea. My experience so far with the Blackroll. It's all OK!
I am fortunate to have a teacher for physiotherapy as sports colleagues, which means that the Blackroll may actually matter to him. For any normal Physio is a saying that this device is all bad and wrecking "by the professionally trained hands" is no substitute. To make a long story short: His opinion is the product ganzg good but to Basilea with caution. One should not necessarily make all areas (he felt the lower back rather unsuitable) and constantly work on pain is counterproductive (he himself also, however, self-made).
Well I ordered all 3 massage rollers:
Blackroll Orange Med:
This massage roller was at first not really my favorite, stood in some reviews, this feels too strongly to foam. Jup this product really is the softest, but intended for people with back or shoulder problems probably is best suited. To back this mat was why the note 1, because it is soft and not too much going on the spine. However, in the following days, I had the feeling that the mat for the back no more "more" brings. Sounds strange, but is true. However, I think make a better choice that people with severe back problems or other spinal structure (more or less muscles, thicker or thinner). For the areas that are quite interesting for athletes I found this role rather bad note 4. This mainly concerned the legs (thighs, calves, etc.). The hardness was so pleasant that I could have taken a round cushion. Furthermore, the exercises on a wall for me too weak (Note 3) When they had further negative point I feel the durability. While the Pro and the standards are quite hard, which are currently still retain their hardness probably a little longer. In the Med, I'm not so sure ...
Blackroll Orange Normal
The normal version of Blackroll Orange is already felt a lot harder than the Med but also for the back quite Ok. The leg area is in my opinion very well durchmassiert (Note 1), a 1- I the Pro version even better than felt his calves. To back the normal version in my opinion, is also well suited. With daily use, you can tell the hardness hardly and it also feels permanently after a good feeling afterwards to; sound re funny, but really so (Note 1). Exercises on the wall are also better than in the Med (Note 2). The shelf life for I think that this would not be as fast as the soft Med that is at least my feeling.
Blackroll Pro.
Phew! The Black Roll Pro is already a tough, honest. 40% harder than the normal version; that it shows really! For the areas on the legs, I found it perfectly (Note 1). The calves were eased with proper hardness and also the thigh felt at the device very well. Unlike however the back (Note 5). Here I can not recommend this version, because the role I was definitely too hard. One had the feeling that it what helps, but I had about after the third day some bruises on the back and a little more back pain. People who think, bruises and pain are good, because you realize that iwas in progress, are greatly mistaken. Pain is never good for the body and never will be good!
Back exercises on the wall, however, succeed quite well because the pressure adjust individual is (1). From the durability ago the Pro will retain its hardness possibly the longest.
Short again summarized the notes
Areas on ...
..Bein
- Med (4)
- Normal (1)
- Pro (1)
..Rücken
- Med (1)
- Normal (1)
- Pro (5)

In the end, everyone must decide for themselves, which is determined best for him. For me it was clear at the end of the normal version, since I use the can perform most exercises without pain afterwards to have no effect or be achieved.
Accordingly, a buy rating for the normal version
