The biggest hurdle was first obtaining the Windows driver that had to be extracted cumbersome. Meanwhile, there are those also on the website of Chip to download (in the search box "Windows Magic Trackpad" enter). One problem was still the Bluetooth stack (driver). Among the Bluetooth driver from Toshiba / Sony / CSR I have the Apple trackpad drivers do not get to work. It works perfectly but with the Windows own Bluetooth drivers. The trackpad works well with the Hama Version 3.0 / EDR Class2 Nano Bluetooth USB Adapter together (possibly supplied drivers are not using Windows automatically! Recognizes the adapter). Then you should have in Device Manager in the properties of the Bluetooth adapter in the Power Management item "computer to turn off this device to save power", otherwise it may be that the trackpad suddenly become unresponsive.
Another problem was that the Windows driver does not allow you to configure. I have accepted this problem and wrote a small configuration tool (search Google for "MagicTrackPadCfg") with which you can diverse functions of the trackpad to activate / deactivate. So, among other things some one- and two-finger gestures can be turned on / off as well as the hardware buttons interchange (ideal for left-handers).
What works (and my tool also can not change) the trackpad in Windows do not have the extended finger gestures (eg rotating, pinch / zoom gestures and all with more than 2 fingers). But to zoom (eg in Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, ...) you can hold the Ctrl key on the keyboard and then the scroll gesture (2 fingers up / move down) use.
The range of hardware buttons is a bit small. While the normal left-click over the entire surface responds when pressing the trackpad, but the process, the mouse cursor may move unintentionally. To avoid this has the trackpad at the bottom of an approximately 10mm high zone where the hardware click function without unwanted movement of the cursor. In this area, the secondary button (right mouse button) is available. But this will only respond to a width of about 4cm from the right edge trackpad seen (seen at left-handed fashion from the left margin). The separation of the two hardware buttons is therefore not centered. By that I erfühle these areas better, I have attached my tape according to the trackpad (see photo).
Otherwise, I am completely satisfied with the trackpad, although it is sometimes sensitive to wet finger and then it is almost impossible to move the mouse cursor. Also one should from time to time by fingerprints with a free cleaning Touch (I always use a handkerchief with a little window cleaner), otherwise the same thing happens as with the wet fingers.
