"Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ" appeared in 1973 and was his debut album. For about 34 years, I own the LP that came out at that time with the folding postcard. In the first year since the release of the LP sold about 25,000 times. By 2008, went by the part about 2 million copies over the counter. What I loved this album and heard countless times. This LP, "Born To Run" and "Darkness On The Edge of Town" I had played on audio cassette and on my "long lonely" part car trips during my military service from Munich to home (Westfalen). My VW Beetle became a concert hall. Today (2013), we all know that will find on this LP or CD that has now, of course, gathered in my music shelf, some of Springsteen's classics. These songs, like "Spirit In The Night", "Blinded By The Light" and "Growin 'Up" today are still firm favorites in his concerts. But the songs like "Lost In The Flood" and "It's Hard To Be A Saint In The City" are the exception songs that are especially beautiful to listen to the live recording "Hammersmith Odeon, London '75". "For You", "Spirit In The Night" and "Blinded By The Light" found with "Manfred Mann's Earth Band" a fantastic customer, who with his cover versions had incredible success. Friends of Springsteen's music you have on the quality of "Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ" unconvincing. It's a great album. It is worthwhile to put it again in the CD player, as this determines waiting a long time on it, to give it the best again. It is an album that is fully packed with rock jewels! Five Star has earned all this early work by Bruce Springsteen.
