Well, the Cure is actually a highly polarizing band. Many like this band around the Altmelancholiker Robert Smith and highly appreciate the superbly rehearsed songs and the great musicality of the band. Otherwise the shallow pop is easy to melancholic and bland. All the critics was placed (and only this record) to the heart to change this, if necessary, this plate. The first CD provides an overview of the Studio activities of the Cure. The sound quality that is unfortunately often too little attention is highly recommended and about the songs you need not discuss. They provide a good, but a bit rough overview of the complete works of the Cure. The second CD, however, is really incredible. The unplugged versions show only really good musicians that Robert Smith has gathered around him and the versions are sometimes even better than the studio versions, especially close to me, lullaby and Just Like Heaven, one should listen more closely here. The photographs convey directly a "jazz club" atmosphere, giving the feeling to be there live. So on the whole, one should grab as fans definitely the Special Edition, and in each complete CD collection, this masterpiece should not be ignored simply.
