When I discovered the Garmin Forerunner 110, I was immediately impressed its functionality + optics, so I've still bought it quickly just before the trip. After now almost 6 months service (along with the heart rate belt of my other Garmin devices) I draw the following conclusion:
+ All "essential" functions of a GPS running computer (stopwatch, lap, distance, speed, heart rate, time) are available.
+ Simple, intuitive operation, clear menu structure.
+ GPS signal conditions (signal never lost (except in tunnels, underpasses or buildings))
+ Backlighted
+ Weight + size (disturbs the wrist at all)
+ Optics (looks great for my taste (clock u. Bracelet "of a piece"))
+ Battery performance (stops at GPS enabled more than 5 hours "in one piece", or as a pure clock (no GPS) over 2 weeks)
+ Bracelet (very robust, can be set prima u wear.)
+ Uhrenglas (used without film, but still no scratches)
+ Waterproof (rain, fog and occasionally started in the shower. So far, everything has remained tight)
o charging cable (for charging a USB charging cable with special "clip" must be connected to 4 contacts the clock. This is for a somewhat "friggelig" u. on the other hand to show the clock and then to be loaded, although not all 4 contacts connected are (so the battery then not charging)). One must embarrassing pay close attention when you connect the charging cable clamp that all 4 contacts really "snap"). I prefer here no point because I myself am perhaps just too clumsy.
- Satellite positioning (sometimes required the Garmin several minutes until finally enough satellites are tracked's annoying especially because the FR110 AFTER the satellite positioning again very soon returns to the pure clock function when the stopwatch has not been started in the meantime. (then the satellites must be searched again). My FR305 I just turned on 15 minutes before running the start u. who then waited obediently after his leisurely satellite positioning that I loslaufe u. the stopwatch start. With the FR110 goes for the energy-saving function is not so easy!
- Measured values can not be arbitrarily combined (according to the "Start" can be on the red "Page" button (located at about 7 clock on the housing edge) switch between pages while 3 are in each side 3 measured values displayed (one measurement in large. . the middle, the other two will appear smaller top and bottom) WHAT WHERE is set u can -. unlike in the case FR305 - not be changed by users.
Because of the 2 negative points (s. Above) I prefer total from a star. Otherwise a great GPS Running Computer. The FR110 is also available a visually pleasing clock! After nearly half-yearly application I note also that I now neither my "old" watch, even my FR305 use - the FR110 is simply the better combination of both worlds!
