The story ...

This first volume of Trylle perfectly introduced him: if the action a bit slow coming, it was a discovery phase of Trylles the world, thanks in relation to Wendy. The girl, still in High School, who has difficulty in concentration and behavior, finds himself propelled overnight in this strange universe, after a violent assault, which it unscathed through The intervention of a handsome twenty dune of years: Finn .
Since that time she discovered the existence of Trylles, she is neither more nor less than the princess and future heir of the Kingdom, everything changes and we learn at the same time what the rules of this strange principality. We face the Queen's biological mother Wendy, icy, hateful, and the rest of the Court, whose largely dream semparer the throne. Amid plots, unspoken and danger lurking in the dark, Wendy will also face feelings of emergence for his savior and protector, Finn. Suffice to say that the program is loaded!
Wendy is a young woman unsure of her, with a pig character (this is the least that can be said lon) and I put a lot of time before lapprécier a little. The party scene really annoyed my birthday, like his whiny attitude of plague throughout the book. It seems never satisfied me, never happy and complains constantly. I found this really awful attitude, but fortunately it sarrange on end, and the secondary characters allow sen ignore.
Finn, a young guard, is quite endearing. Its status tracker lempêche can feel the affection for Wendy and is constantly torn between his duty and his feelings. It always happens at the right time, but is also quite cold. It souvre throughout the book, to unveil a being with a big heart and that is the character that i preferred in this book.
There is also the young Willa, Wendy takes under his wing and that i found really funny and friendly. Finally, it was the adoptive family Wendy, her brother and her aunt quon meeting at the beginning of the novel. I found that, given that what makes them live in the early chapters, they were really patient and (too) nice. They are straight, honest and friendly. I hope to really quon find them in the next volumes!
As for the biological mother Wendy, Elora, I found that cétait a truly detestable woman. Apparently, it would have a better background ny that he seems, but for once, I found really annoying lai and I would have rebelled much earlier, rather than having to bear all his derogatory remarks to a girl which knows only from a week, what has withdrawn his loving and caring adoptive family.
Finally, there are bad guys (it takes!) But that are quite discreet in this first volume, so I will not detail them further. This quon know is that they want to get their hands on Wendy, and for this they are ready for anything. It promises for the future!
As mentioned above, I found that this volume was more introductory quautre thing. Things move a bit towards the end and really was of the action in the last chapters, but otherwise so far, it is mostly witnessed complicated lapprentissage Princess of work.
However, the end result bodes dune more hectic and addictive! I wait impatiently to have volume 2 in my hands in order to know the continuation of Wendy's adventures and also to find out who is the mysterious Loki!

The writing ...

It mest difficult to judge the pen dAmanda Hocking, but, apart from a few sentences at the beginning of the novel that sounded strangely in my ears, I found that the writing was fluid, short, direct sentences. One might regret a certain lack of poetry and description, but it's for the benefit of dialogues conducted smoothly.

Symbolic ...

Here, Wendy seeks its place, but do not find anywhere. Whether in her adoptive or biological family, she does not find its mark and is in a perpetual quest for who she is. Given its age, this is pretty consistent with the teenager dune interrogations happens in the adult world. High school, here powered "Trylle Princess," a role which covers such a job. She tries to understand this position, but at the same time, it continues to rebel against the rules of the Kingdom. She is in constant combat with others and with itself. It acts impulsively, like a child, but regrets once, like an adult. It is divided, torn between the two parts delle herself between the child and ladulte between the adoptive family and biological. This duality is very pregnant in the first volume and pushes the reader into a corner, as it collapses faster on one side and the other brain Wendy.
Also, I found that the placement of children in Trylles human family like a metaphor of the cuckoo. Who, by getting rid of eggs other birds, arrives at his place, which end up killing other babies from the nest once born. Wendy, with her bad temper and whims pushes his foster brother and aunt to make great sacrifices for her, without any merit. It considers all this as normal and will not change behavior until it is anyway too late to change.
