And that for 3 reasons:
1- manufacture all-metal gives it a fantastic look (even if the front light is debatable: big flashing green light when accessing)
2- silence, for it is just missing disk of any brilliance, the same feast in a totally silent room,
3- the promise of a fast interface with USB3 but for the moment I could not test it.
USB2.0 tested with a MacBook Air 2011, the access times are not to his advantage because the interface is not at all exploited: 30MB / s write and 35MB / s read.
Good point: it has a switch that allows the switching on and off without having to play with his food.
A test more thoroughly into USB3.0 on the arrival of my MacBookPro Retina.
[SHIFT] tested USB3 response times take a hit phenomenal boost, with a surprising element: writing the time a little better than the reading time ... strange.
Is thus obtained in writing 117MB / s and read 115MB / s. When compared to the USB2 we see that we have access to almost 4 faster. Long live USB3 !!!
