Yes why not? is the question I asked myself closing the reading of this book. Baxter has an incredible talent to imagine and describe the near future of our species. I had stayed in "Titan" that I also enjoyed. "Arche" follows much the same pattern. The first third of the book is long.J'ai insisted on following the formation of candidates, the decay of our land invaded by the waters, the plight of displaced populations and chaos sets in. Shortly before takeoff, everything accelerates. From there, I had a hard time closing the book because it is a rare wealth as the topics are interesting and varied: demography, climate change, survival, reproduction, genetics, education, innate and nurture, evolution, adaptation to the environment, propulsion modes, exoplanets, etc. I hope there will be a sequel. Earth, Earth II, III and Earth Arches are very promising. A hot, some ideas seem to me quite incredible: takeoff, the warp bubble, fire, depressurization, survival conditions in the Ark. A cold, I tell myself that it is often in emergency situations that the greatest scientific advances are taking place. So why not? I recommend.
