I have the predecessor model (Huawei Ascend Mate), with which I am very happy - but I am, admittedly, on a whim, switched to the new Mate 7. And I have not looked back. The comparison: The display is almost the same size. Although the device is just a little smaller and a little lighter, but one has the subjective impression of a considerably more compact and better located in the handset. Through the aluminum housing, the Mate 7 valent acts as the Ascend Mate. The display has now FullHD Auflsöung is knackscharf and can be adjusted very bright, if it should be necessary. The user interface has been modernized - whether it likes, is a matter of taste - and expanded into the possibilities: it can now also create folders, widgets can be positioned on any side (and not only on the frontpage as the Ascend Mate). When battery I notice no difference to the previous model, in which I got along well 3 days with a single battery charge. There are now some tools that you can optimize the power consumption, thus increasing the battery life. Well done! I've always been incomprehensible that you start with Android apps and these continue to run, even though they are no longer needed. I can still remember the early days of Android, as was emphasized that under Android programs do not need to be terminated - thus also have many apps no real closing dialog. The usefulness of this concept has never been revealed to me, but also need the running background apps store and wasted system resources. Now you will be on the Apps pointed Mate 7, running in the background, use electricity and obviously no longer needed. That the charging of a 4.1 Ah battery with max. 2 A charging current takes time, is logical and gives no cause for criticism, as can be read in other reviews. The increase in speed by the 2x4-core processor you can clearly see, stuttering or trailer, I have not noticed. Likewise, the data transfer rate for wireless productivity has increased significantly, which I did not expect. The 64 GB memory card, which I already used in Ascend Mate, Mate also works in 7 perfectly - I did not expect. The positioning means of GPS running significantly faster, at 3 trials in different locations, the position was found in each case within 15 seconds. The fingerprint sensor, a novelty compared to the Ascend Mate, works very reliably. If a finger is not recognized, it is usually at the sloppy or slanted positioning of the finger. On the second attempt it works then ... All in all, a perfect instrument for me. Only two little things I find of improvement: 1. The keys for on / off and volume up / down are reversed and protrude now clearly out of the housing. This pressing, especially the on / off button often unintentionally. Watching one must here also when inserting the SIM and memory card. I think it would be clever if the keys were more shifted to the upper edge of the housing towards or when the On / Off button would be positioned at the top edge of the case. 2. In the "shortcuts", on the one WLAN, Bluetooth, data service, ... on, the icons are stylish minimalist and appear blue green if the relevant function is switched on, and gray when turned off. I need to look very closely as to see whether or Off. It would be nice if you could choose a color for the on-state, which provides a stronger contrast to black. Sure can the set somewhere in the depths of the operating system, but so far I have not yet penetrated ...
