The screen is sharp and clear, graphical power to 9x higher iPad2 still brings more fluidity in games, reading, watching videos or photos is a real pleasure. Autonomy remains similar to that of the iPad2 with a new larger battery.
Shadow points:
- The full charge of the battery takes 6 to 8 hours ... and tablet use in heating and in load.
- No Flash support for now, which eliminates a lot of gaming sites or websites tout court
- Wifi seems slower than other devices of the same type
- The screen is unreadable outdoors with some sun
- It is confined to the Apple world, not enough free applications compared to moultes paid apps, I struggled to load a hundred photos via USB stick with the lack of openness inherent Apple
In summary, beautiful object, pleasant to use, fast, nice display, good battery life that will delight all iGeek :)
I also have an Android tablet (Galaxy Tab 10.1, good product, screen design and well below the iPad3 but swift) and an Android phone (Galaxy S2) and I prefer the opening of the system, one has the distinct feeling to be more free to choose, you can customize at will and has plenty of free applications (sometimes with pub, which disappear with the paid version).
Buy or not buy? If you have an iPad 2, I do not think the passage 3 is urgent unless the gorgeous screen make you the oeuil. It would be interesting to wait and see if they will offer Samsung Tab with AMOLED screen that consumes 30% less and is at least as good if not better than the Retina, the colors are more vibrant on my Galaxy S2 on the iPad 3. And never forget that a tablet does not completely replace a PC, and for the price of iPad3, we can also offer a laptop with keyboard and "base for the screen" if you see what I mean :)
