In order to listen to my old treasures again I have finally again found me a record player. After extensive research, I ended up at the Dual DTJ 301.2. No..a had him last week on offer and so came one to the other. The needle is indeed the key for a good sound and because of the dual is still expandable, had the same over here replacement. At first I considered whether I get myself a stylish Ortofon, but since I neither highend boxes still have trained ears that ATN3652E must reach now first. However, I did not buy it here, but the auction house. There the name is inden table only a different color. Because the seller is known in the vinyl scene, I'm assuming that the Green is actually originals.
Compared to the standard needle of the dual this sounds much better here, but nothing that would have given me a 'wow' factor. The basses are a bit crowded and the treble sound a ticking clearer and more detailed. I had honestly expected something more. But because you can upgrade for a relatively small price his turntables with minimum effort (the old needle is withdrawn just down) there in spite of the only small improvement 3 stars. The next step would then almost cost as much as the dual itself and it is not me at the value.
