This slight doubt were, at least before certainly present. Up to the Cashier Cover "I kill my neighbors and Beat 'his body" on the B-side of "Ibbtown Chronicles" had been heard singing the Donots nunmal exclusively in English. Not that you would not have expected the quintet such a move, but the man is nunmal creature of habit. But after the first round any doubts were blown away. The album makes from the first second "click" when the handset and after a few songs a fall no longer on the other language.
Ingo is the gewissenen "detector" thanks be to able to write incredibly catchy lyrics, remain hanging immediately. Yes, here and there the problem lies in some line a little bit. One example is the chorus of "still" called - here it would have liked may be even more rhymes than "still" and "but". The line "If it has to be all alone" is used in two songs. These are minor niggles, but do not disturb the overall impression. Boys succeeds excellently convey a message with her songs - clearly more than, for example, still on "Wake The Dogs". The sometimes very clearly ("Then without me", "street dogs"), sometimes a bit hidden ("You can never be happy"). Another advantage of the German language: Guidos voice fits this like chalk and cheese. The vocals on "problem no problem" is so unique that I was almost a little disappointed that Guido has not yet get another song - with all due respect to Ingo.
Musically and technically there is, as always, nothing to complain about. The boys can perfectly handle their instruments, especially Guido. The album is produced very rich, the Donots sing as always often in the choir, which the chorus singles out wonderfully. From punk songs like "I do not join in", "broken", very danceable songs "head remains above" to quieter numbers "Still" is again a lot of variety on offer. Overall, however, the album seems much harder than the last works of Ibbenbürener. What may perhaps be due to the language.
Favourites pick out from the album, is difficult. "Then without me" has an incredibly catchy melody, not to mention the message. "Young man wanted to suffer with" orientert on "Dead Man Walking" - that can only be good. "Next" is the largest single potential, and rightly so; "The end of the world has long passed" an incredibly high sing-along factor. The melody of the chorus of "Strassenköter" also - great sport!
Finally, a word to the Limited Deluxe Edition: Worth it! If you still can muster, to beat! A bonus vinyl, the live CD from the States, a flag, and 14 cool drawings by Ingo - adorn every wall of the room immensely, I tested habs. :)
