The grip is pretty fabulous, the design that I find very successfully combined with the use of well-finished materials gives the impression of a luxury item fingers. Ergonomics is perfect for my taste: folding and unfolding headphones and storage in custom molded case with much ease. Everything gives the feeling of having been extremely well studied.
The port is a comfortable suite and for a closed helmet you are comfortable with the occultation ear pavilions, the headband is lightweight and comfortable, it maintains without being heavy. If I compare the Sennheiser PX200 II playing in the courtyard below for the price, I find the AKG 450 somewhat less stable than the PX200 when abrupt movements (sport). This is easily explained: the PX200 is even lighter and maintenance is just perfect while the few extra grams of k450 make the arch more sensitive to sudden movements. Otherwise, only the headphones we will limit the time of use, certainly not the comfort that is beyond reproach.
Listening, one is immediately impressed by the clarity of the record across the spectrum and an incredible sensation in the lower which have a totally hallucinatory reproduction in the attacks because of the small size of the helmet. We are in the hi-fi range, no longer in the simple nomadic headphones.
But it is at the expense of the truth of the lower midrange which is an enlarged hair so that the ear can access such bass. Be careful, if the lower midrange is pervasive it is far from the infamous boiled proposed by some helmets that distort the spectrum as low might do the worst loudness.
The midrange and treble remain perfectly audible, balanced and bright, regardless of the type of listening: jazz, pop or even classical.
No helmet can never make an ideal listening course, but even compared to my best living helmets, the k450 really the road and under its weight and its portability has an ideal compromise for those who bear listening typed "German" with a very present midbass and thus a coloring listening very "hot". Clearly, I think it will delight, amaze even the rap fans, techno, electro and other gourmet ziques in low and will happen to seduce the most demanding audiophile jazz or pop.
The bundle is really well designed with a proper case, two cables, one short for the inner jacket pocket player and another longer and classic, two converters for micro-jack-jack and large HIFI amplifiers.
I use and tests the whole past week and, as you may have read, I'm really excited. At 56 euros / PC when the article is given, the error I'm still looking :)
