But after the Second Listen, it was interesting. And now that I've heard the album for a third time, and even still in perfect calm and with headphones, where I could concentrate fully on the sound of music and Dave's voice, I'm really completely thrilled! The pieces really sound top notch! Whether slow or faster pieces. Particularly it did to me the pieces "The Pretender" and "Stranger Things Have Happened". This could indeed not be more different, because the quite brutal and loud, the others are the gentler and quieter comes along, but these pieces reflect the whole album in its perfection resist. It is a real sound experience as Dave uses his voice playful formally.
And one more little comment on the I'm-disappointed-because-I-ON-album-as-the-first-two-expected Group: you should here bear in mind that the first album was a solo project of Dave. That is, he alone has composed and played the songs. And also the second album, as there was now a band occupation, most of the songs were already composed by Dave. But from the third album, as then also came two new band members, were first many - if not all - composed songs together as a band. Since it is only logical that everyone has a few other ideas and integrate them then. Therefore there will be no more like the first two album. Many complain, the album would be very "mainstream" or sound "radio friendly". But then I wonder why I never actually hear the Foo Fighters on the regular radio stations, but instead constantly songs like "When September Ends" by Green Day, are even now really hard boiled punk musicians ?!
All in all it can be said that the album really very well done in my opinion, and thus each is recommended that the good rock music - sometimes with softer and quieter tones - is! This plate is a real recommendation and therefore gets to me without hesitation, the 5 star!
