So far so good. The postman came and finally I made pack: A large slipcase box incl.
- 96 trading cards of all those present, especially the cows splendid idea
- A cardboard double-Sleeve including CD and DVD, backed by
- An autograph card of the band
- A layer of fragrant hay and straw flowers
-
But this package is an already feel as a fan and collector to be taken seriously and not to be standardized Limited Editions (5 instead of 2 bonus tracks and black instead of blue Cover) fobbed off. Looking at the price of 34 EUR it is found that they'd let alone separately for CD and DVD more money. I am absolutely pleased with this box, it fits just perfectly into this concept of rustic-bustling Wind-Bayern. On the shelf makes you also top. I was lucky with me no small animals has gerappelt in a box, some of the straw went into the sleeves and hung on the CDs Anyway - Thumbs up! A charming appearance, but because there are still more to discover, for example, for the ears.
The music (CD and DVD):
Who has ever heard Labrassbanda live knows that a tuba can still work like clockwork even beyond 150bpm. The energy that is thereby expended by each musician, is palpable in the audience. So that the 5 boys is the full speed in the blood has been known for a few years, the more I was curious about this Unplugged album. Loud and fast is known to be always capitalized with thumping beats always particular in a pop landscape in popping productions.
Now here is but actually unplugged announced. What is proving to Labrassbanda Kiah Royal versatility in terms of music (reggae, jazz, salsa, pop, rock) as well as to diverse instrumentation (incl. Guest musicians) remarkable. Only I find fascinating as amateur musicians the wonderful momentum which incorporated the whole orchestra in the songs. A steady and quiet quieter one every solo finds its place in the instrumental balanced arrangements. Not for nothing just applies: can play any sound, the art is actually in a quieter tone. And this art is implemented here with musical near-perfection.
Moment. Near-perfection? - In my view, one of the most appealing features of this disc. One often has the impression to be more in a cozy live session here, less at a concert by constructed with meticulous preparation. It may sometimes laughing between songs some of the musicians who commented and (naturally quiet) be applauded and it falls while looking the DVD more because otherwise the instructions that give the musicians with each other while the songs here and there. On top of this unspeakable peace that captured the cameras and captured on partly documentary tinged images have certainly sound backed by occasional mooing. For this, a wonderfully warm, cozy and largely natural illumination of the space. Even before the first harmony fills the room makes you feel in the cowshed on the screen at home, can completely switch off and enjoy the music. The combination of everything ultimately leads to this very proper organic and rustic aesthetics of sound and image.
But only in the evening thrown in a quiet mood in the CD player sounds here as a good example - the moon, performed together with Rocko Schamoni, just after powerful creeps on. That's just a great, deep and weighs so little acting piece of music sung by an artist whose name I have never heard. Likewise, the guest appearances by Stephan Remmler and Stofferl Well (who had the glorious idea to interpret a song about the price of milk in the cow?) Are apt for LaBrassBanda handset also largely unknown and offer a great asset for this record.
There remain after deduction of these three guest pieces then of course the full range of LaBrassBanda pieces. Starting with Ofree and Peroni Pizza (the latter derived from Da Dub on album Habedieehre) which afterwards throw in a brisk quasi-Offbeat sometimes the trumpet in the interplay a trombone and horn flies, resulting in a fantastic sounding organic Delay
.. On the European tracks like Sweden, Holland or Tecno which were of course also orchestrated and arranged all new and so that new facets of the songs and the band release to quiet down and dreamy songs as Deyda. The latter piece is also one of my favorites on Kiah Royal although this song is unfortunately only included on the DVD and has not been released on CD.
This fact is worth to me a tiny point of criticism. I would have liked this song on the CD - it has a beautiful interlude, a distinctive cow in the background (;-)) and especially the right message that is conveyed by the lyrics, freely interpreted: the desire for the simple beauty , after more character, to corners and edges simply the primal thing.
And that's exactly what Kiah Royal makes for me: Just good music, versatile / put forward shifts and above all with heart and skill. Without arrogant arrangements and very clean produces the songs a lot of room for details, and especially the organic live character were left to mixdown and mastering on CD. On top of the original and above all honest Location.
I can only recommend: the DVD is actually already mandatory for the full enjoyment of Kiah Royal, otherwise missed a few of the many songs that were not captured on CD though each song had its CD-authorization. In addition, the DVD material provides a great atmosphere as an extension to the image plane. Of course, the CD is a single piece of acquisition but also worth the money eventually she runs now probably even the next few weeks, mostly on my long commute to work.
So I am: Again everything right its Brass Banda. Thank you for this autumn-plate!
