I'm generally more attracted by the thrillers of American or British authors, but here I must say that Thilliez managed to embark on his evil universe and I read "Fractures" almost in one sitting. The story is complex, probably too to be summarized without revealing key elements, the multiple characters and confusing to the point that one wonders the relationship between the different tracks initiated, even if there is one . But yes, everything fits perfectly in the end, everything is explained clearly (which was not a foregone saw elaborately constructed history), with the added several twists that I did not have seen it coming.
We are not in the area of great literature, it is a fact, style is relatively simple and concise, but if you are looking for a detective novel that keeps you in suspense, intrigue you and surprises you in its resolution " Fractures "perfectly fulfills the terms of the contract. It is also a dark and violent work, dealing with sensitive issues and unceremoniously plunging the reader into an abyss of cruelty and madness (the author is obviously very knowledgeable about certain topics in the field of psychiatry). A good read without any dead time, to take on holiday without hesitation ...
