My home setup consists of 2 x 5 and a Dali censor Klipsch Synergy Sub 12th
Positives:
- To my knowledge, the best calibration system in this price range
- Airplay
- Network functions (Internet radio, play audio formats of devices in the home network, etc)
- Denontypischer sound (very subjective, but I like it)
- Very good step by step guide on the TV screen during initial commissioning (very beginner-friendly)
- Knob for source selection at the front
- Front USB (I hate to have behind the shelf to the USB flash drive to replace)
- Well-functioning remote control app (via iPhone, but also for Android available)
- Very clear Fernbedinung
- 1 year warranty extension to 3 years on the "Denon Owner`s Club", just create an account and register online his device.
- Very nice bass imm 2.0 Operating
- Low power consumption
- Automatic shutdown during periods of inactivity, I love this feature)
Negatives:
- Relatively few HDMI inputs (4 pieces back, 1 piece front)
- Is changed from time to time problems airplay, especially "on the fly", so say for example if there is a reproduction from a USB stick and then while playing on airplay. It takes time bore very long until the AVR starts playback. Airplay works over WiFi only fully with very good signal strength via a network cable logically without problems.
- The crossover frequency is only in 20 increments ie 40 to 60 and so on ...
- The front is made of plastic (the Onkyo was this made of metal)
- No 4K Upscaling (although this would not yet really available at the moment)
Conclusion:
Bottom line outweigh the benefits clearly and I have 98% of the period of use no problems!
I do not regret this purchase and the exchange of Onkyo on Denon no second and am very happy with the AVR. As I submit to the HDMI inputs and otherwise do not need more facilities, this device is TOP!
Now the most important point, the sound!
I am blown away. The voices dissolve very nice from the speakers and even the dimensionality has improved significantly compared to Onkyo. What is probably due to the better calibration system. With very high quality recordings of the Denon clearer and more precise than it did in comparison to the Onkyo plays. I can all hear in direct comparison because I had 2 AVR`s for testing at the same (Onkyo TX-NR 609 from a friend and the Denon)
I did not expect that the difference in sound would be so clear, especially with regard to the space! The better calibration system is worthwhile in any case and can be measured in the room in order to up to 8 different. Points.
Price-Performance:
For the paid one gets a purist equipped AVR however a great Einmessystem brings and sound for this budget is absolutely fine. Personally, I find the compromise in favor of MultiEQ XT and at the expense of more HDMI inputs and additional external power amps very well. Also missing features such as upscaling I miss not really to the point and can therefore price / performance awarded a well.
Even the brought "Compressed Audio Restorer" does a good job. The purpose is to change music with poor quality as to be able to hear you anyway. One can now indeed not expect miracles, but some titles that I could not listen to the Onkyo I can now hear again. Of course, this is no longer crystal clear recording, however, you can still listen to most recordings. Similarly, the Internet radio stations, which are unfortunately usually stream in a low quality to bear now;)
If you want more HDMI inputs or outputs, one should rely on a model of the higher class. As there would be X2000 to the X4000. Where the X4000 then again a better calibration system, namely the MultiEQ XT 32, brings.
If you have questions just leave a comment and I will reply promptly)
I use my system in about 60/30/10 percent, TV / music / BD and PS3.
At Last but not least, a link to the manufacturer's website with the Technical Reference. Data of AVR`s because I find this much clearer than Auflistund here;)
