So we come to Pros & Cons:
Pro:
- Story & action: As in Part 1 - 3, as is also the story for "Angel of Death" has become properly again. As befits there is a beautiful mysterious story, the course again turns to the Templars, yet nevertheless not forget to bring innovations and to pack everything in a wonderful, extremely thrilling and atmospheric, frame. All in all, the story of 100% as you want from a "Broken Sword" have it.
- The riddle:
Again, there are again looking at the same strengths that are already familiar from the predecessors. All puzzles are logical, crisp and solvable. There is hardly a place to which one would really desperate, but no place can be too easily solved. It has to be fiddled, combined and tried, but a look at the complete solution is likely, when enough patience and power of deduction, yet be unnecessary. All in all though had part 1 & 2 have to offer a few more puzzles in this regard, but in terms of quality of mystery, at least, you can be completely satisfied.
- The humor:
And the third important point of each BF game is implemented here consistently. Once again, the word play has failed wonderful black and damn funny. George and Nico shiver at each other as ever. And if George at the sight of sparking electricity wires thinking about his warning grandmother, who told him that he should so something never touch, but in the end probably even died from an electric shock and the George with quote: "So we have the cremation saved "quitiert, then you come out of the grin just not out. OK then!
Synchronization:
When it comes to implementation has again set some wheels in motion to be the predecessors of justice. All characters that you already know from the previous guests have regained their known speaker, what is really damn good effect on the atmosphere. And also all the new characters are spoken by professional speakers.
So that all sounds good so far, but unfortunately also some criticism must be practiced:
Cons:
- Control: The Game Pass-killer in "The Angel of Death" par excellence. Possible innovation fully control should fail, but the bottom line is it is unfortunately just advised embarrassment. Games you can both with the mouse and the keyboard, but with the mouse you have the figures sometimes step by step through the area click (because the camera is usually much different permits), and in the movement with the keyboard cooked up our good George again and again at corners and edges and refuses partout continue what he dispatches with a simple shrug. The mixture of the two control elements helps then via many stumbling blocks away, but the bottom line remains that control one of the schlampigsten that there has ever been in an adventure game.
- Mini-games, sliding puzzles and time pressure:
Although the puzzles density, as mentioned above, is actually one of the strengths of the game, so the designers had to again this time installing some unsightly Zwischenspielchen, the nerves in the long run. So you have to z. Ex. A hack again and again in other people's computers, which still represents a nice change for the first two or three times, but later just still sucks. In addition, the hated sliding puzzles were taken over from its predecessor, though, happy way, only in a small number. And some puzzles that must be solved under time pressure can, one, due to the hack time control, also sometimes leave bite into the keyboard.
- The end:
And as a last resort must be also the end of the game go to the opposite standpoint. Just as with its predecessors, so unfortunately you get it here again with a very choppy end to do that a only a few seconds after the last action of the player dismisses out of the game. About 15 hours of game play go by, unfortunately only with a rather unpleasant aftertaste to an end.
Both Pro and Contra, it will still need to enter for the graphics. Really well managed here are for. Ex. The faces of the figures that have failed incredibly rich in detail and where you can view individual emotions wonderful. Furthermore, the selection or the creation of scenes is splendidly succeeded. Just a pity that there are but usually only the characters who breathe these scenes of life, because otherwise the environment affects mostly very stiff, animation and motionless.
Bottom line, but extend beyond the positive elements but still significantly higher than the negatives and thus still provide a fun, crunchy enigmatic, and most (black) humorous adventure game that both friends of the series as well as all other adventure fans should not miss. At the hakeliger control you get used to at some point and the remaining criticisms only make little difference compared to the strengths of the game. So if no match in quality of part 1 & 2 expected, but "only" a good adventure game in the stalk of Part 3, which will certainly not be disappointed!
