Basically, the idea of a self-adjusting to the fabric iron is good. An implementation is lagging behind even more: Compared to my 70! cheaper predecessor (by Philips) I need much longer with the GC4918 / 30 to the wrinkles in his shirt and trousers to eliminate (probably due to the microchip, the temperature rather low attaches favor sensitive substances to be too high). The amount of steam seems to me far more than its predecessor and, contrary to the promises of the manufacturer has the GC4918 / 30 only once dropped (although the indication signaled already in bright blue standby) .Also the amount of steam appears to me by no means satisfactory. Here the 30 expensive predecessors could keep at least. Finally, my two minutes seem a long time until the iron off in the horizontal.
Again at a glance:
+ Good idea of the automatic temperature control
+ Sufficiently long cable (no extension required) + Iron sufficiently heavy - handle a little wobbly + Sole glides nicely over any substances
but
- Unfortunately, automatic temperature control is not used for speed - Not just enough steam power - Too expensive (for this service) - Automatic switch-off could grab earlier
I'm going to the GC4918 / 30 therefore probably return to either buy a steam iron, or a simpleres model (with the possibility to regulate the temperature again himself). Too bad, in this price range I had expected more.
