In short these works, which are sometimes a little skinny (not all of course), are beautifully dressed and are all a prodigious scale under the fingers of Brendel.
It is quite different por last sonatas, where Brendel is lost. The rubati, unstable tempi (typically between two consecutive measurements) or too slow, the beginning arpeggio chords, sometimes declamatory intent all too obvious, so many fads that become often crispantes and undermine musical torrent content in these compositions beautiful, who need nothing more than to be perfectly straight. From this point of view, there is much more and much better elsewhere.
Overall a good buy, but we would have liked so much force in the 32nd sonata in first!
