I purchased the LG BH9540TW through Amazon Warehouse deal - the delivery was fast, the packaging was authentic but unfortunately the individual components were not sorted according to the original, which had led to scratches on a pedestal and a column as well as the covering fabric of the subwoofer on the rear damaged. But all this has no direct influence on the functionality - so no further comments on it by myself.

The "hi-Corner- seller" the usual electronics markets have discouraged with regard to the not-to-reach sound quality with such small speakers (diaphragm diameter) from the purchase.
All previous reviews here had made a mixed impression on me - the 9.1 surround options have me but curious.
So I ordered it.

My positive criticisms:
+ The system is solid / screwing the speaker on the pillars just okay
+ Appearance is a matter of taste (I do not think it's fair, my love - you are the boxes too flashy)
+ The wireless connection of the surround back speakers is practical and works perfectly
+ The remote control is used to but functional for non-LG-user and is recognized from all possible directions
+ The hardware-based operation is (insert DVD's, plug USB devices, on / off switch ...) also easy
+ The assembly is unique thanks to plug colors and -einrastpositionen simple but takes time
+ Connection of our TV (Hisense 65 ") with HDMI and Toslink audio connection (optical / fiber) was no problem
+ The speaker setup is simple and understandable

My only two negative criticisms:
-1. not individually adjustable multi-channel equalizers (tone controls / Tonfrequenzgangregler) over all the functions and all the speakers away
-2. no possibility of individual surround adjustment or too few presets, whose parameters can not be changed
What does that mean in detail for me:
I see once the surround sound and equalizer control of LG BH9540TW with the possibilities of my very inexpensive (about 40), older, external 7.1 USB sound card Aureon Terratec on my PC (mind control - not the sound of the PC speaker system itself).
For this purpose it is necessary to disassemble the word surround sound in two different areas: the acoustic distribution of sound / noise to Warnehmung the different directions on the surround speakers and the pure Tonfrequenzzusammensetzung the sounds / noises (frequency response / frequency correction) and the possibilities of manipulation by means of an equalizer.
to 1.: _______________
Regardless of the visual operation of Terratec with the mouse on the PC screen, it offers the possibility of a 10-band equalizer, the away remains active over all other settings - the LG BH9540TW has no comparable functionality - not even a simple, universal height / depth regulator on the control unit.
The 4-band audio frequency equalizer in the surround presets itself represents a preset that in turn provides no surround effect settings, and also has no effect on the other surround presets. It can only rudimentary affect the sound but not be combined with the surround sound distributing presets, because only one preset can be active.
LG's Mini-equalizer is therefore absolutely useless and with 4 channels very limited individualized.
-2. _______________
My Terratec provides a variety of settings for different audio streams: 2-channel MP3's to 5-channel DVD sound to surround sound options are processed in accordance with the internal sound Prozesseor for the speakers. All possible surround effects (reverb, echo, reflections, attenuation, 7.1 Virtual Speaker shifting) can be simulated so and. In different intensities in combination with the equalizer from -1 Set (and save).
This "upscaling" feature is LG BH9540TW very poorly implemented - 2-channel sound sources such as audio CDs, MP3's, and the built-in FM radio sound underground bad - since when you sit at a concert no longer in the middle, but enjoys the "hollow "and" dull "residual sound outside in the park next to the concert hall?
Even the playback of video files (1: 1 DVD data with AC3 audio stream) via USB drive suffers similar and does not provide the thick-feeling. Everything sounds kind of "flat" and "hollow".
By contrast, the sound of the original BD's and DVD's - surprisingly - much clearer and striking. The equalizer of -1. would I even still missing, but that the thick-feeling is exhilarating good experience - so it goes with those boxes!

Conclusion:
Referred to as "flagship" in LG BH9540TW provides a fundamentally capable hardware, the sound all the applications from the CD player, MP3 player, sound streaming, FM radio and cinema transpose COULD if LG had bothered a good firmware to develop it. The lack of an absolute basis functions is inexcusable even with the "very good" price. So here it only remains to hope that LG eliminates this lack satisfactory with a firmware update. If not, the boxes I have personally even demonstrated its sound capabilities in DVD mode. If necessary they can be so with a bit of tinkering (going the wireless operation of the rear speakers of course not) also connect to another, functionally better BD player in the future.
