Following reasonably short presentations on one aspect or consequence of relativity, the author invites you to "finger" that reality by "animating" the time and observing this intelligible one-dimensional space.
Without any equation, the phenomena as "Contraction of time", lengths, the "twin paradox" and other show you a striking clarity. Even better, you begin to anticipate certain consequences once the principle included (I had fun creating my own patterns to animate). So, when the equations come to the end of all, you'll probably far less reluctance to address them. A history also helps to fix ideas on fathers of this theory. This can prevent you from falling into traps like "is Poincaré who made it up, or else."
Of course, our time is four-dimensional space but it is easy to understand that being possible to represent the author chose the optimal model for a book (space-time two-dimensional). It is also hoped that the author is interested in an animated version (DVD?) Of his book where he can use a time advantage of 3-dimensional space (sketched in his book) even more telling.
