But now to the plate - in the first step without comparison DREDGs other albums. I recommend, although the number of therefore arrived in the usual format radio pieces makes up just over half of the title to listen to the plate absolutely straight. Dredg manages the pieces, for example, through the "Stamp of Origin ..." - set pieces, used them for his or her own beauty unfold to tell in a river (a bit reminiscent of Marillion's "Marbles", but more successful) , About the thematic concept has already been reported adequately in the other Resenzionen - for me not decisive - so I rather want to come out that the combination partly relaxed casual ("Mourning This Morning"), but mostly punchy bass / guitar / drumming (eg "Saviour") is placed by the extraordinary, clear voice the crown.
Who asks now, what kind of music is actually crowned here, possibly faces a dilemma ... we are here in indie rock, in the post-prog, in Emo? And that's what makes me from the absolute fascination of music, namely to break genre boundaries with an ease that is second to none. And this at a level of craftsmanship that actually earned over many other things, which is flushed through the eternal "next big thing" hype up six stars.
(The alas in the single version of the divine midsection lost) on the plate next to the single well already reasonably well-known "information" are represented with "Savior", "Ireland" and "I do not know" absolutely radio-friendly beads. (Top hits there are of course not, for "ramming timing" and textual stupidity is too little represented.)
This brings me also for the second step: The classification in the previous work of Dredg and my recommendation as a "beginner board". The current release has actually a bit of everything: The work begun by the "Catch Without Arms" album trend, something with more powerful, but isolated juxtaposed offer pieces, continues musical, this time paired with the bracketing of "El Cielo" known in a concept - and in some cases its magic. The debut CD "leitmotif" I leave here on the sidelines, frankly it's too top-heavy.
Unfortunately, and because there are only four stars (representing approximately 6 stars with other artists, so), just missing bit of pressure and just the little magic to deliver another absolute masterpiece. And the complacency of pieces bought hereby makes the album an ideal starting point to explore the universe Dredg. To all beginners here so my tip: Hear Dredg! That, anyway, but also in time descending order.
Written enough, the music should speak for itself.
