The camera has an all überragneden sensor in a compact and very light housing. It is in conjunction with the Zeiss 55mm 1.8 lens certainly the best and because of the real practical size and the currently attractive full format in the market. However, the current objective listing tarnishes the joy considerably. In particular, the disappointed especially for the A7 / A7R developed Zeiss 24-70mm Standard Zoom 4.0 in terms of resolution and quality sharpness greatly. I'll keep it for lack of an alternative, however. Since I still have a D800, fortunately, I am not on the A7R reliant when it comes time for accuracy and I want to produce perfect images. Precise and perfect pictures are in the "golden combination" impossible with the 24-70mm! Meanwhile, you have to be aware of if you want to own this great camera as the only full-frame. In addition to this, I fast lenses from 100mm focal length for the A7 / A7R can not imagine because of the compact camera size because size and weight of the camera would then be out of proportion to the objective weight. Even about you should be aware, this camera is suitable neither for sports nor taking pictures of animals (especially since the focus is not outstanding fast). This camera is a pure portrait / studio camera or a sophisticated "clippers" for snapshots, since you will have more common in itself as a normal DSLR. I will therefore reserve (also in combination with the really bad 24-70 4.0) as a highly mobile secondary camera for D800. For those who ask the question to D800 (s) or Sony A7R the only camera, should choose the D800 (e) me dear.
Update 04/04/2014: In the meantime, I have succeeded with the A7R fantastic resolution pictures. I must admit that I was very pleasantly surprised. Nevertheless, I will stay with the 4 stars because the developed for A7R lenses can not really keep up with those of Nikon and Canon. Yes, you can use and the large heavy A-mount lenses Screw an adapter, but then gambled the camera much of their benefits, they will be more expensive to the adapter and the large lenses, heavier and bulkier.
For me, the 4-stars are still a strong buy recommendation, or I would not keep the camera itself. But if you mainly photographed with large, heavy and fast lenses (ie in sports and wildlife area), then the mirror cars such as D800E or D5 MK III from Canon still have the advantage.
