The FRITZ! WLAN Repeater 300E began last week suddenly whistling, an unpleasant high-pitched noise, which even after a night in which he was staked out and did not stop after the current software update.
Since my parents with a Fritz! Box 7390 had the problem that calls repeatedly for different time broke (Despite software updates / new Fritz! - Saved configuration of the old Fritz box with password protection to your computer!

All three Fritz! Fon MT-F functioned perfectly after registration of the new Fritz! Box 7490.

Advantages of the Fritz Box 7490 compared to 7390:
The repeater we no longer need, at exactly the same line-up of the new Fritz! Box does the Wi-Fi throughout, incl. 2nd floor, so it seems to be really better.
In the other floors it works more stable and with better field strength.
USB 3.0 works better (UMTS stick to call or data transfer with the connected USB hard drive).
The connected via the USB port of the HP Officejet also works well with all Windows and Apple computers.
Conclusion:
So far, no disadvantages / problems found, the statements of AVM after which allegedly WLAN and USB Improved seem to be true.
