Appearance, feel, size:
Yes, 1520 is already very big, no question. Since it is about as heavy as the 920, but I did not feel it huge as much. The somewhat sharp edges disturb the beginning, but I have probably the meisten- -As soon drum slipped a silicone sleeve and since the edges no longer fall on. The size is for my worn more casual jeans still absolutely pocket-fit, even when sitting. And one thing I can absolutely confirm: The size of the display corrupts one immediately, you never want to return to a "small" 920s. Especially the female colleagues are very excited by the appearance. I bought a used 1520 red by Swisscom and this is a real eye-catcher. So a rich and brilliant red, the phone can be found even in the dark again, or at least on a crowded desk.
Display Sunlight Glance:
The IPS-LCD display is super sharp and offers a rich black with vibrant colors, hence a whole lot better than the AMOLED displays. Glance / View works perfectly, what would have I missed the Lumia 930 very painful. Watching videos is a real pleasure and even in the brightest lighting readability is absolutely superb. The brightness can be controlled through fast access, low, medium, high or automatic and the last shot with automatic adjustment works really well.
Processor power, memory:
Personally, I'm not so the app freak, but the 1520s is a bit faster than my old 920, even though I had never anything to complain about there. Some apps launch faster, which may be due from 2 GB even at larger working memory. On board are 32 GB installed, with a Micro SD card you can expand the memory to 64 GB more officially. That's only half the story. How to read on many websites (Verge, Engadget, etc) fits a Class 10 128 GB card, so I've also tried it and see: because it works. Thus, after deduction of the operating system 150 GB of free space left, that's enough for the music collection and even a couple of videos and many, many photos.
Camera and sound recordings:
That brings us to the camera, I feel as though much better than the 920s in person, but not quite as good as the 41MP monstrosity of the Lumia 1020. The colors are displayed faithfully, the contrasts noted also, but especially when shooting indoors one that precisely no xenon flash, but two LEDs were installed "only". Nevertheless, I can not complain, the photo performance is very good. The video performance is significantly better than the 920s, with triple-Zoom also sufficient. The sound quality is surprisingly good, and music recordings of live bands work well and without distortion.
Battery and Charging:
The battery is actually been the main criterion for me. I was tired, take an auxiliary battery for the 920s and am happy as Bolle, that the 1520 without problems a 18-hour day with a full program (browsing, email, photos, videos, sometimes the phone, GPS, etc.) by holding and is still full to half or a third. Meanwhile, I see no serious reason to make Windows Phone a bow. CONCLUSION: Technically and visually well selected giant phone that fits your pocket just in the (men?). Giant memory and huge battery mean peace of mind. Good to very good camera, great display with a fantastic outdoor readability and a now well-engineered operating system. I am thrilled and have the change from 920 to 1520 no regrets - on the contrary, I should have done this before :-)
