Positives:
+ DCF radio signal can be reliably detected and set the correct time.
+ Practically imperceptible running noise and thankfully no annoying second hand
Easy to activate + lighting in the dark, very bright with very good visibility (white housing)
+ Simple setting of the alarm time by retractable knob on the back
+ Reliable Awaken at the set time
Neutral:
o Increasing ringtone starts rather quietly and increases to only moderate neighborly friendly volume. Who therefore very loud alarm sounds need to wake up, should possibly look better elsewhere. For me it is enough, however, completely, because I wake up already in silent ringing.
o The alarm clock is the center front only on a narrow Sensor that turns on the light when the pressure on the housing and start the snooze function. The lack of lateral support, the device is a little wobbly.
o The plastic of the more lightweight body is made dull and no longer acts as valuable and robust compared to previous BRAUN-alarm clocks.
Negatives:
- The windscreen is made of simple, fairly kratzanfälligem plastic. So the wheel of my alarm clock had been on delivery various scratch marks probably due to transport and packaging. Here clearly more quality for the price may well be expected.
- The upper fold on / off rocker switch for alarm is a bit small and too stiff, so that it is not good to meet in the dark.
- No-Go function Fault: If you want to turn off the ringing by pressing the rocker switch, you activate the snooze feature also inevitable first, because the resistance of the pressure sensor on the stand rest is less than the resistance of the stiff rocker. So you first pressed inevitably the case down, the light goes on and the snooze function (= clock is stopped only temporarily, and will ring four minutes later again) is activated. Only after that, when the housing is already so pressed down, the on / off rocker is in the off position. Unfortunately the off position of the rocker overrides but not previously activated snooze function, which is why it almost endlessly ringing every few minutes. This vicious circle can be avoided only if the alarm is immediately taken on the first ring in his hand, so the annoying foot sensor remains inactive when you press the on / off rocker switch.
I initially wondered whether there might be a defect in my unit here, but had read in other reviews from buyers that they also complained about persistent-ringing, although the bell function was disabled. Thus, I assume that it is probably here, in fact, to a capital Konstrukionsmangel and unfortunately not an isolated mistake.
Conclusion: Due to the unacceptable for me Kontrukionsfehlers which prevents the wise use of the alarm clock for me, I returned the product does look nice on Amazon. I regret exceedingly that the current owner of the Braun design and naming rights is not in a position even for good money to offer high-value products in the tradition of BRAUN. Very bad!
