The camera delivers a great quality for a compact camera. Only in very poor light I want a SLR. From ISO 800 noise is significantly affecting visible without the image. I have pictures taken with ISO 1600 that are truly presentable.
Otherwise, I have a feeling that in barely a compact all parameters are well matched. The lens is light strong and has to overdo a good zoom range without the sensor is large enough to provide really good quality, the workmanship and the design is great, the megapixels are manageable but perfectly adequate voted on a Compact and obviously well on the sensor , The size, the feel and the weight like me. By many physical settings (ie wheels and buttons) makes operation much more fun than with cameras where you have to click through the menus completely.
All that sounds after a clear buy recommendation but that I can not deliver because it is still to buy the X10. The X10 is almost completely the X20 and costs about half. Significant improvements do not exist.
So who is not not much the word "X20" needed and satisfied with the all-black design, accesses X10.
Conclusion: The X20 is not a SLR camera with APS-C sensor and therefore can not be measured with this scale. The images are still very good even though they sometimes require post-processing (therefore photograph whatsoever in RAW format). Unlike a bulky SLR can see the X20 always have, but it is too big for your pocket. What good is an awesome camera if it attaches home dust while I'm traveling?
Certainly you can also have a G15 or a DSC-RX100 (supplies probably even better results) buy. This is ultimately a matter of taste.
My clear tip: Anyone looking for a good and beautiful Compact, to save the fee for the X20 and X10 accesses to its predecessor.
Update:
What I have just been forgotten: Buy yourself a spare battery and a decent book explains all the functions. There is a good lens attachment which you no longer need to lose weight (to find on Amazon) and did not expect much from the panorama and video mode. Otherwise, a lot of fun with the X10 / X20.
