Buy and have fun!

I have longed long after this lens and, more recently, it is in my possession. About the Schächen and strengths this lens I infomiert me in detail and the advantages outweigh the disadvantages much more that I noticed.

In addition to the greatest advantage - the intensity of this lens has to be said not much. Of course, the colors look (Standard Picture Style) and the bokeh "blurs" very pleasant. Autofocus makes very good. Only in low-light situations, the AF time is true (not always) next to it) and there is a slight but visible front focus. However, I could see this only in Aperture 1.4 in said light situation - I do not exclude that the error was caused in part by myself;)

The sharpness of the images is consistently very good. Here I can also confirm that it is down to blurred the edges and also a dim not appreciably help it. I personally do not mind this "effect" and it falls disturbing only in a minority on motives.

Chromatic aberrations are clearly seen on some subjects and remain visible in part this also dimmed. However, this can be eliminated by a little image processing.

Permanent focus error ex works (front / back focus), I do not have my copy. Even the HSM is quickly and quietly (not silent).

This may sound very negative written so far now, but I have to say that I am more than satisfied with this lens and the disadvantages mentioned here in practice are not as bad as written. These also show the various images of other owners. At times in this price range are not comparable in terms of light intensity.

Conclusion: Buying and have fun :)
