A few years ago my equivalent of "Canesten Extra" Once upon a time by a doctor outside Germany been prescribed (identical ingredients, common application). This means a success was initially very fast set, but in the end came the nail fungus yet again, what was that I have the treatment completed either too early or I the nail after removing the diseased nail parts not yet a couple weeks, as recommended in the package insert, have dealt with another antifungal further and the fungus was therefore not completely removed.
A few weeks ago I started a new attempt. This time with the "Canesten Extra Nagelset". I have applied the ointment according to instructions and covered with a plaster. However, I have used other than the supplied patch, because they are not elastic and do not hold it right. According leaflet rich two weeks of successful treatment, but to be sure, I have doubled the duration of treatment. The diseased nail parts were removed easily and absolutely pain free after a few days, but I was wearing the ointment on. After I had the impression that really all infested parts of the nail was removed, I continued the treatment with "Loceryl Nail Polish", which had been recommended to me by a podiatrist. Usually one puts the nail fungus with this paint at bay alone. To this end, the nail must be ground down regularly as far as possible and then the Loceryl nail polish can be applied. By previous treatment with Canesten Extra Nagelset I can abrading initially spared because the affected nail parts have been removed. Now it's just a matter that the paint containing active ingredients to the sites to bring, where perhaps despite all caution and effort are still fungal spores. Treatment is ongoing at the moment, but the result looks already quite promising. I will update my review at certain intervals in order to keep interested parties up to date.
Preliminary Conclusions:
From a laser treatment aside, the Canesten Extra Nagelset is not only the most effective treatment method known to me, but also one in which a clear success is visible already within a few days. I venture to doubt that this drug is able to eliminate the nail fungus even if it is already up to the nail matrix (nail root) has penetrated. In this case, help probably really only the laser.
Supplement dated May 26, 2013
Originally five of my toenails were affected: one of them completely, the rest only locally. After treatment with Canesten Extra Nagelset all affected areas had disappeared at the partially affected nails. In the nail that was very infected by nail fungus, I was able to remove large portions, but I was even after four weeks of treatment are still under the impression that the nail in the nail root (nail matrix) still grows too thick.
After stopping treatment with Canesten Nagelset I began, once a week apply Loceryl nail polish on all five nails. A month later, see the four nails, which were only partially affected by the beginning of nail fungus, still very good. They are thin and grow well after. The originally completely infected nail still worries me, but it's still too early for a final judgment.
Addendum dated July 9, 2013
The treated nails are now about half outgrown and the result still looks good when one of the a nail aside, who was completely infested and grows still too thick.
Conclusion:
Treatment with Canesten Extra-Nagelset is very effective, and the Loceryl paint works well for the message or further treatment (a treatment exclusively with the Loceryl nail polish I have not tried). If the fungus has spread to the nail root, but neither of the two drugs bring a satisfactory result.

Although it may have looked like, I have not been idle since my last communication. After I have learned that an expensive laser treatment does not necessarily crowned with success a must, I continued my search for an appropriate therapy and further research on the Internet, asking doctors for their opinion (my neighbor is one of this guild, and also it has dealing with nail fungus and not get it under control ...), and successively honey, peracetic acid and oregano oil tested (each for several months). In particular, the oregano oil I had hoped for much, because it is bactericidal, fungicidal and antiviral. One of the best natural antibiotics, unlike most synthetic products hardly any side effects and shows even in multiresistant bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), the issue is now recognized as a multi-resistant hospital bug notoriety, an excellent effect. After initially promising appearing changes at the nail but also came with these products again sometime the point where simply did nothing more, and I had the impression that the first improved optical image even slightly worsened again.
Now I have arrived at "PediFu" and bust massage. Even the oregano oil I use at the moment even more, because I do not believe that the information provided by the manufacturer (Zane Hellas) should be such baseless. About PediFu I have repeatedly read quite positive, and I had wanted to try it for some time again. Daily Bust massages are a real treat, and remove the dead cells, which serve as food mushrooms. They also promote blood circulation, has a positive effect on the growth of nails. This is a very important factor in the infected nail fungus nails, their growth is often extremely slow and in some cases even completely stops. And if a nail is no longer growing, it is also the fungus can not get rid ... The improved blood circulation also ensures warm and dry feet. This is very pleasant (not only in the winter), and fungi feel in such an environment significantly less well than on a cool, damp skin.
I started. With this new method about a month ago The problem I bow to nail down a regular basis as far as possible. Since fungi like neither heat nor drought, in addition to the bust massage also the daily use of hairdryers has had a very positive, with whom I ensure a few minutes after applying the PediFu gel that everything is properly dry before I put on my socks. With a hair dryer can einheizen mushrooms neat, and they dislike ... ;-)
For instantaneous point, I'm optimistic, because my nails now look better and healthier, and this gives us hope ...
