CAUTION customer! Revision differences

Currently, the UX31E comes in 4 different versions and I do not mean the various models with Core i5 / Core i7 or the hard drives with 128 GB or 256 GB, but the fact that components are used by various manufacturers that are significantly worse.

Extreme differences in quality:
Currently the 128GB and the 256GB version with hard drives ADATA and SanDisk are stocked. The bad thing here is that the SANDISK plates are significantly worse and writing by a factor of 6 slower than the ADATA drives. Even when reading fluctuates here the performance, depending on data size, only it falls here never to give up easily.
The touchpad is unfortunately exactly. Again, there are two versions, one with an ELAN touchpad and a Sentallic touchpad. Again, there are differences in quality. Both versions are really just mediocre, just there at the touchpad still several problems with multitouch, which are resolved with the latest drivers but apparently.

WLAN problems + solution:
Some users (also here at Amazon) reported various problems with your wireless network. The problems with the range do not necessarily come from the hardware, but rather from within the software. In the Power Options Advanced settings the performance of the WLAN adapter can be regulated, this was for me the reason for the poor wireless performance.

Keyboard, design, display, performance:
Both the design and the keyboard are excellent, the whole thing looks very classy and matched. The keyboard is through the short tactile habituation thing. The display I'm actually more than satisfied, the brightness is very good, colors are also ok (after color calibration). The high resolution was even purchase crucial for me. Battery life is also very impressive 6 to 7 hours with Wi-Fi in it (absolutely great). The fan control is for me the best I've seen so far. In Office mode, the unit is completely silent, while surfing the fan is barely audible.

Conclusion:
Currently there is a 50% chance of a really good Ultrabook to buy, which has also performed very well mainly in various test reports and test magazines. Here you have also the chance to get a complete sham, which borders on customer fraud because here was advertised with a fast SSD, but a slower SSD was installed.
For the version with a fast ADATA hard drive, I give a 4 out of 5. One point I draw here primarily for the absolute miserable support of ASUS on this topic.
For the sham, because there are really bad SSD Performance in writing only 2 of 5. Total comprehensive income because everything is under the same model, a 3 out of 5
