Previously I had a Sound Blaster X-FI Surround 5.1 Pro hang (USB) on MacBook. This worked on OSX not so hot. The problem here was the fact that there is no OSX driver for the card. One can without driver (with the generic USB drivers) work, but then there is no support for the subwoofer in stereo mode. Say, Stereo is really only 2 speakers and not (2.1) - of course that is not useful in a 5.1 speaker setup. If you then various shenanigans (Soundflower + AU Lab) still gets the subwoofer is activated, it is unfortunately forced to use a "full" surround mode. So it is then all the speakers used, including center and two rear speakers. It may give the user the ok find music for it in my opinion is awful. On top of that this DIY solution even on a 2013er 15 "MacBookPro (i7) 3.2GHz device after a while, in a buffer underflow -.> It starts to crackle I have long long rumgefummelt and ultimately even self-written what for me true 2.1 sound get with the card. Schoenes Lehrstueck but this solution was susceptible to buffer underflows.
So today I have the Omni in operation and am totally satisfied. The drivers work perfectly, music (ie stereo signal) is without any fumbling, right in 2.1 mode reproduced (if you want it). The processor load of the driver stays in the healthy Mass (5-6%). For gamers but certainly violent. Only true gamers to buy eh no notebook or even a USB soundcard. And if they do, then everything is anyway no matter)
To Crystalizer and the other (pseudo) Sound improvement I can say nothing, something I do not use - why.
For remote control, I can not really say what, except that she is really cute - I do not need.
USB cable is, power supply is not needed.
TL / DR;
Music (2.1): Prima
Movies (5.1): Prima
Games: faster processor needs repairs
For the price unbeatable well.
