I ride a Supermoto (KTM 640 SM) and am therefore not in the absolute high-speed range traveling.
The helmet has the current Shark safety technology from 2010, making around a high-quality and safe impression.
Style:
as always a matter of taste, but I like it very well, certainly a + point. and yes, he clearly illuminates and then actually looks like in the photos. refklektor the strips are glued and painted over (under the paint felt).
Technology:
The integrated sun visor was a reason to buy for me and is easy to operate, even with light summer gloves certainly not a problem (as with all gloves with which you can use flashlights etc ... never impalpable or similar). the tint is gentle, but prevents the visor effectively reflect the disturbing of the road when driving against the sun (important for me as too strong darkening). one struck me, however: the sunshade creates a small lens effect is, the environment is visually minimal detail and 3D perception is easily affected. Both effects however small trained, but the reason for me not to use a visor in dense city traffic; it offers to the highway all the more.
very positive, I noticed that when schulterblick / seitenblick incur no wind noise or additional forces on the head. the general wind noise I feel as normal (not loud, not quiet). I refer to the S900 as a summer helmet, because the ventilation is good and without a mask / hood permanently air from below flows into the helmet (for me as a supermoto rider ideal and certainly not disturbing). All statements I make in the field to 170km / h.
Processing:
I am overall very satisfied with the helmet (have high quality standards), no fluff or individual threads. * spoiler * the plastic on the Helm are very well made and act in no way cheap / rickety. the breath- and wind deflector act with value and are removable. the chin strap can be opened easily and has always been reliably closed with me.
Others:
* the entry * is unusually tight, when trying on clothes you feel * of at least one size too small *. However, sits the helmet on his head, you feel immediately at home and safe. with the shark I switched from helmet size XL to L and regret it not for my head (large + ründlich + normal nose :)) which fit very well (2 weeks after use almost perfect) is. the helmet is provided to be with the obligatory additional reflector strips you need to make for example in France legally and go shark-helmet bag.
Conclusion:
a good helmet the middle price range, can score with a very good workmanship, the current security concept, great design and thus a very good price / performance ratio. in the price range (~ 250) provides shark my opinion on helmets to the highest quality and therefore I recommend this helmet specifically for sporty drivers!
