At first I was skeptical: only 8 GB of internal memory, 1.5 GB of RAM instead of the usual 2 GB, no AMOLED display but "only" Super Clear LCD touch screen with 1280x720 pixels.
Honestly not purchased at Amazon.com because not yet available. I must say that I am absolutely thrilled.
If you can really live with this size, you really have a wonderful device. The resolution of the display does a demolition neither sharpness nor the clarity. Scripture is absolutely sharp, colors wonderfully. Writing a good size. I have set about 15% of brightness. All very bright and clear.
The Mega 6.3 is the first phone from Samsung that I had, which is readable in direct sunlight. That was not the case with the Galaxy S4. When sunlight was nothing more to see there.
The start screen rotates when you turn the phone. So you can use all functions of the Home screen horizontally. Super. This is also not the grade 2 or S4.
The reception quality is very good. I have with us in the apartment usually barely receiving. When Mega 6.3, the display does not fluctuate like the Galaxy S4, but remains constant at one or two strokes. Nevertheless flawless conversations without interruptions are possible. The voice quality is excellent, found 2. No differences as the S4 or note. Minimalstes background noise, but that does not really bother.
The battery is replaceable, has 3200 mAh and (always on WiFi, GPS always on, at night activates offline mode) kept me nearly 3 days ago.
Something unconventional is the insertion of the micro-SIM. This is not clicked as the other Samsung phones, but only inserted. There is no further locking. The Micro SD card is about the micro-SIM pushed right (I have also only at a second glance discovered). There is no extra slot.
I have installed in addition to the pre-installed 20 Apps and occupied a quarter of the yet remaining 4 GB. The operating system 4.2.2 occupied by the 8GB half.
Applications start very fast, in spite of only dual-core processor (2x 1.7 GHz). Every now and then you have a small dramatic pause from half a second. The not particularly bother me personally but. In Antutu Benschmark it is then only just under half of the score of a Galaxy S4.
But ok between test results and practical applications you have to see what is a personally important.
I have always been annoyed that I could not even read the display in sunlight at grade 2 in Grade 2. This goes wonderfully. The device with one hand is difficult to operate. However, Samsung has the one-off key is set down so that you can still get a hand on it.
For me, a wonderful device that could already view as a mixture between phone and tablet, so as phablet, as the saying goes.
Conclusion: If you want a great phone, is no way around this: wonderful display, very excellent Reception and voice properties, LTE is on board, fast connection and good perfomance. What more do you want?
I am pleasantly surprised.
