Logitech writes lag to be reckoned 45 minutes to programming. Well, in theory. But with the large number of possible FB commands Murphy slams determined - as in my case. I soon realized that I could 2 key commands with the Harmony not reproduce - to switch the TV between HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 input, as well as to change the DVR between HDD and DVD. The Logitech email support was very quick and friendly (answer within a few hours), but did not yield any solution. Ultimately then helped but a tip from a friend: in determining my own equipment in the Harmony programming software, I did not exactly my actual device, but similar input. Now it works.
The concept, a series of commands to send (activity as a macro on the PC), makes sense when many circuits consecutively needs (so described as something like above). Then you can use the Harmony to operate different devices at the same time; I can, for example, with the buttons Play, Stop, Next or Back control a DVD, the pressure on the volume button but the receiver is addressed. You can subsequently create individual functions of separate devices at will on the Harmony, both the fixed buttons and the soft buttons, so the LCD panel. In addition, you can define "sequences", as well as macros, which are unwound when you press a key (so the Xtreamer requires to fade in the subtitle the following commands: Subtitle> Enter> Down> Enter> Subtitle This order I have a single Harmony. button down - a pressure, and everything is processed; very handy!).
The Harmony is not really designed for a variety of FB 1: replace 1. It would also be very difficult to combine all the commands of eg 4 FB on a single surface. Rather, you get control of just the functions carried out at a given activity (see TV or DVD see or listen to the radio) needs. It is not proposed that one can operate the tuner when watching TV, or that you change the TV channel during DVD viewing. But this is perfectly fine; If you change the activity (ie merges eg by listening to the radio to television, will change according to their preferences and the availability of the buttons on the Harmony). (It is said that you can shimmy already through the menus of Harmony to still access these hidden features, but if you have programmed time the Harmony to personal taste, you will never need.)
Of course, true what was mentioned in the other reviews: a PC with Internet connection is imperative and you should not be afraid, rumzufummeln with the program, and to test various functions and configurations. Over time you noticed what commands you need most and possibly missing; these can then reprogram train to train. And most importantly - can not be frustrated! A look at the Logitech forums shows that many users only times have problems; ultimately they are but to solve. I myself was once on the verge of return the Machine; Now I want to miss it in any case! The other FB I put away ...
I think this device fits comfortably in your hand and the buttons are also to feel "blind" good. The backlight goes with me when I take the Harmony in the hand; no shaking needed. Exception: when turning, I must hold the device a little longer focused on my system, so that all commands can be "processed"; The lights can go out again. But you can adjust the lighting time.
The color design is a matter of taste; the gray-silver is ok (even if the Harmony will certainly times do not end up in a design museum). The LCD display lights up blue-gray with me, with black lettering; The buttons themselves are white-orange lit so that you can see the black lettering well.
By the way - the sake of completeness: The Logitech works on all devices that are controlled with an infrared remote control, not just TV and HiFi! I had a device-free place; so I can now operate also my stand fan.
