Sanyo claims that an Eneloop battery after 6 months still has 90% of the original charge after one year 85%. Good brand batteries have maybe 70% at 6 months and are completely discharged after one year. This also remotes with batteries would be used.
The eneloop batteries can also be used to '10 ° C, which is not at all batteries is also possible.
Another more important point is that the battery Arbeistspannung about 30-40mV is higher than that of other batteries. This is a longer standby time possible.
But now a reality. I read the beginning of 2006 in the news of a major German computer online portal that Sanyo has developed a NiMH battery, which has a very low self-discharge. My NiMH batteries that I had owned, all were discharged more or less rapidly, at 6 months was not much energy in the cells. Therefore I found Eneloop very interesting, and I've bought at launch is 2 packets. I immediately used a set, the other set I leave the closet. The loading of the Eneloop batteries by the way possible without any problem with any laid-out for NiMH battery charger. I have a Ansmann charger and a Voltcraft from Conrad Electronics, and both work without any problems with the Eneloop!
The Eneloop I have used with my Sony DSC-W5 digital camera, and I was thrilled. I have the batteries do not need to load before the first use, and the cells were still full. The camera worked without any problems, and the work duration was by no means inferior to that of other batteries. The big difference was that a battery pack from Ansmann (2500mAh capacity) was only "half load" indicating the Eneloop but was recognized as a fully loaded into my digital camera of 2 weeks prior to use, and also ran significantly longer than the battery from Ansmann. It is with the Eneloop therefore almost always possible to pack a full battery pack in the camera bag, and therefore always have a gun ready digicam.
Second test unit I have my Samsung YP-MT6 MP3 Player operated with an eneloop battery. The MP3 player itself is characterized one way or another by an absolutely record-breaking term of max. 48 hours. One does not really so often change the batteries. In the normal battery you have already noticed that the charge but the battery decreases over the weeks quite strong with low usage. This behavior I do not have the Eneloop battery. I use my MP3 player often at times to hear only 2-3 songs, and have for weeks still all 3 load bars in the display.
The I mentioned 2 set of Eneloop batteries has after 4 months still complete its charge. Both my digicam and my MP3 player recognize these batteries still with max. Battery indication.
For me, the Eneloop battery is a big step forward. All equipment which I had previously run with AA or AAA batteries (eg remote controls, computer mouse, wireless headphones, etc ...) I will operate in the future with Eneloop batteries. This protects the environment, and also saves money! Practically, I also think that you can use the inner packaging of Eneloops as storage container.
The AA (Mignon Eneloop has 2000mAh capacity, guarantees are 1900mAh.
The AAA (Micro) Eneloop has 800mAh capacity, guarantees are 750mAh.
Priced the batteries are not more expensive than other brands NiMH batteries. Therefore one must not buy a high price, the low self-discharge. Therefore, clearly 5 star for this really great battery.
The charger supplied do I rate only "acceptable" because it is not a quick charger. However, it is serving to otherwise reliable. I think it's too long, that AA cells need ~ 10 hours, and AAA cells ~ 8 hours. A quick charger would need 2-3 hours.
I give this package but despite the 5 stars because the charger is ultimately only ~ 2 to 3 EUR extra charge off your budget over a normal 4-battery pack.
