For new equipment:
I bought the successor, because I (BDP-S350) was not that great satisfied with the image representation of a predecessor. When BDP-S350 I had every few minutes slight image distortions / artifacts / ghosting during fast movements at close range, the extremely bothered me over time.
The picture quality is very good-brilliant, natural colors. Also the DVD upscaling works flawlessly and DVD's are thus also shown in significantly enhanced super quality. The picture comes running with the 1080p / 24p - cope setting. Distortion or Nachzieheffekte- as I mentioned in my old Sony BDP-S350 I could not recognize and am therefore ever overjoyed.
The loading and playback times have improved noticeably over previous models and are definitely Schneller if not worlds compared to previous models. But bothers me eh not know if the film's release is 10 seconds shorter or longer. If I want to enjoy a Blu-ray, then I've also time to do so.
It all depends on the user / user needs. The now missing remaining indicator and few other features not bother me. I want to see- film and nothing else.
With a network cable and connected to the Internet you have access to many video portals like Youtube ...... with very akzeptabeln load times. Also very positive the USB port. The quality / tone of the music playback from CDs is also good. The music CDs sound at high and low frequencies dynamically, noise-free, and perfectly balanced.
Also nice, I personally find the flat and practical design / size of the device. For mechanical Laufgeräuchen I can observe that they are not audible during a movie or music even at low volume. Only when loading / reading you can hear the typical drive noise. I can not imagine that there is any player where this NOISE are not heard me. Wiegesagt during playback (then I would have a problem with it) is definitely not to hear me. I sit away approximately 2.80 m from the player. The remote control is thankfully much less fancy compared to its predecessors.
Conclusion:
Top Image quality and for the price perfectly adequate operating functions. Only the supplement of a HDMI cable would have been to be desired.
If the player can keep the quality further, there on the player for the price hardly a past, as it has a better picture than many expensive competing device !!!
The most important thing for me personally is a top Image quality and has the Sony BDP-S370.
Extract a test report from the "Audio Vision 04/2010:
Leaderboard to 350 Euro: 2nd place with 87 points (behind LG BD 390 with 88 points)
Award: On sale, highlight and Stromsparer 2010
Conclusion:
The new Sony BDP-S 370 is super flat, fast and efficient, and can open up new multimedia and Internet applications. Per firmware update it should also soon DLNA streaming behrrschen. Blu-rays he plays perfectly anyway - and collected with this great package awards for quality, price and power consumption.
Absolute buy recommendation.
And by the way: the update is already available and can be downloaded from the Sony website.
