The Lego Technic 42000 Grand Prix Racer is a great model. He is the successor of the old Silver Champion or the Ferrari F1 in scale 1 in my eyes:. 8 The racer impresses primarily by its size, which is not exactly small precipitates with about 58cm. So also, the structure is not in 2 hour or so out of hand, but needs even a slightly longer construction period. The design is fun for rather inexperienced farmer certainly recommend the previous Order of the components as they are mixed distributed in several bags. The construction is shown carefully and clearly in 3 books, as one would expect from Lego. Once all the parts are put together (there remain a few remnants left of the B-model), you can proudly look at its new model. Among the technical features belonging to one that you can open the engine cover by a rotating mechanism on different gears. Then there would come a V8 engine to the fore that has been designed beautifully with several hoses and has rotating pistons which are brought on the rear axle and differential there built in motion. Another "Highlight" would be adjustable, rear spoiler, which can also be moved by the aforementioned gears. These two functions (spoiler and cover) can also with the Power Functions (not included) are served. For this one must simply install the battery box and the engine on the model. For this, everything is pre-assembled and requires no further renovation phase. From a technical perspective, the number of features thus falls out rather weak. For this purpose, another highlight points, namely, the suspension including suspension and steering mechanism. Here the designers have done really great work. Everything is assembled as close to reality, the internal suspension is modeled on the real F1 racers. Here the technic-enthusiastic heart leaps again later. Visually, the Racer is kept neutral but sporty. The slightly more than 20 stickers should this all be glued because the race car is only well staged really.
All in all I am very satisfied with the model. The price fits, you get a great vehicle with lots of building fun behind. The technical features are now nothing earth-shattering, but maybe we're just too spoiled by models like the Volvo wheel loaders or the heavy-duty crane. From me there is certainly a strong buy recommendation, should be certainly for some Lego fans a great surprise for Christmas.
